This is such an awesome, quick and inexpensive dinner to make. This marinade is absolutely perfect for tofu. I love using the miso paste and tamari together for that perfect umami flavour. When I don’t feel like really cooking, I often turn to this simple recipe and am completely satisfied.
I love added this tofu to a rice or noodle bowl with some fresh saute broccoli, bok choi, or any other dark leafy green. It’s high in protein and completely gluten free, vegan and not to mention very fulfilling!

Miso Glazed Tofu Bowl
Ingredients
- 15 oz extra firm tofu cut into 1/2 in thick cubes
- ½ cup onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or sesame seed oil
- 2 tbsp white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons tamari
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Remove the tofu from the package and press to remove excess fluid.
- While the tofu is pressing, whisk together chopped onion, garlic olive oil, miso, tamari, and vinegar in a small bowl.
- Cut the tofu into 1/2” cubes and place in the miso marinade. Stir everything together gently so that the marinade mixes in with the tofu. Let the tofu marinade for at least 30 minutes to one hour.
- Pour oil in skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Let the oil heat up. Use tongs to carefully place tofu pieces in the skillet and slightly brown each side of the tofu cubes.
- Turn heat to low and add the remaining marinade. Cook for a minute or two until the onions are tender.
- Serve with rice noodles, fried broccoli and top with sesame seeds. Eat and enjoy!
